Troupe Advertising was founded by Kevin Troupe in 1993. Kevin was the child that enjoyed spending time drawing and painting with his Grandmother. While in his teens, hew was already painting signs, lettering racecars and doing custom airbrush and striping work. He also enjoyed doing autobody and painting everything from Harleys to trucks. When Kevin graduated high school,, he decided to enter Hennepin Tech. That is where he learned to layout and design, cartooning, character drawing and how to use computer based design tools to enhance his abilities to design and fabricate signs.
In 1993, Troupe Advertising was one of the first sign companies in the area to purchase Gerber's new plotter systems for cutting vinyl lettering and graphics. At that time he was doing all the lettering and striping for Forester Boats in Sauk Rapids, MN along with other manufacturing companies. Signs for local businesses, vehicle numbers, sponsor lettering and graphics for race cars have been his main products. In 1999, Troupe upgraded all equipment and software to the newest Gerber Edge thermal printer/ cutters, with the ability to design and cut full color graphics, lettering and photo decals. Then in 2005, the newest printer by Mimaki was added, the JV3-160 along with the addition of a 61" laminator to make the prints fade and scratch resistant.
Although Kevin was learning the most advanced techniques in sign making, he never forgot the lessons he learned from the great people that he worked with at autobody shops all those years ago.
